Chapter Eight: Captain Campana

- “That file is directly from Alpha’s desk. It has all of your orders. Though I am delivering them, they do not come from me or the Navy. This is his mission. And, this is of course very sensitive information. Captain Campana, you are now the ninth living person in the entire human race to know this intelligence about the Deviants. It can't be shared with your crew or anyone, except for your Framer, if you decide it to be pertinent.” – Commodore Nachayev

In Chapter 8 of Mindframe, Captain Claire Campana leaves Earth. She finds herself aboard The Clinton, the flag ship for the Sixth Fleet, under the comand of her family friend Commodore Nachayev. While on this utterly bizarre and alien craft (a thing with writhing walls and no set shape), she gets debriefed about the true nature of her mission once she takes the helm of The Eleanor Gray. As the Commodore entrusts with her the World Navy’s greatest secret, she is filled with questions that can only be answered by The Alpha himself.
